Located in the small village of Hawton, just outside historic Newark-on-Trent, StagHill Bakes is a passion project for Ian Brownhill and Michael Hirschl. Both are experienced and enthusiastic bakers who are now sharing their knowledge, skills and expertise with others. Ian is passionate about sourdough breads whilst Michael uses his Austrian baking heritage to show people how to make a range of baked products.

On behalf of all the ladies, may I say a MASSIVE thank you for the fabulous classes we have all enjoyed over the last 2 days.

You are a fountain of knowledge and you were so patient with us novices, so it was a pleasure to listen to you and learn from you.

We have such lovely bread to enjoy over the next few days and my Starter is currently expanding/feeding very nicely 

I can heartily recommend spending a day with the StagHill Bakes team. I truly felt like I’d had a day of pure holiday - no phone, no computer, NO work! Just focusing on the beautiful aromas and baking activities - as well as a delicious lunch. Absolute manna for the soul - and you get to take home the tasty fruits of your labours!
